Hi everyone. Hope your summer is wrapping up nicely. Mine seems kind of hectic and chaotic. It seems fitting then that I have 2 totally unrelated pieces to share this month. Hey, I'm just happy that I got anything done! Thanks for taking a look.

HER OWN LITTLE WORLD - Original Mixed-media painting

This piece was created on a 6 x 6 x 1 3/8" gallery wrapped canvas with staple-free sides. The sides are painted with a sweet blue and white stripe. No need for a frame. I used acrylic paints, watercolor pencils, scrap papers and vintage text on this girl. She appears to be off in "her own little world"...in a DUDA DAZE if you will. :) I've added a subtle crackle and sprayed with a gloss finish for protection. I've signed it di on the front and signed, titled, and dated the back. This a a one-of-a-kind mixed media painting.

Another original mixed-media painting. This one is on an 8 x 8 x 1 3/8" gallery-wrapped canvas with staple-free sides. Sides are painted black. I showed a pencil sketch of these girls some time ago on my flickr page and someone commented that they were a bit scary. So I went with that. I think they are just the right mix of scary and sweet. "Gingham-haired Fairies" was created using acrylic paint, watercolor pencil, vintage text, ribbons, and, of course, gingham fabric for their hair. I love the colors on this one and the little black cat warms my heart. :)
