13 inch - Early Vintage Shabby Style Winter Frumpy Clown Bear One-Of-A-Kind
What great old creams & pale tan colors…oh so shabby & frumpy….just the way we like it ! He really looks and feels like an antique clown bear too! (Be sure to view lots more pictures in the slideshow below).
Like all my pieces, they are wonderfully distressed to look like they came out of an old trunk in the attic but they are newly made by me and are all my original designs. All my work, including clothing & accessories, is for the Adult collector and is not intended for children.
His mohair is a hand dyed an old cream and tan color then aged.
He has a darkened short snout and tiny darkened ears. His paw pads are backed mohair and then aged. He has black german glass eyes and then I hand inked eye patches. His nose is sparsely stitched with black thread and then I applied my color wax technique on it to make it look even older.
He wears a handmade clown ruff collar that I made from vintage cream fabric and trimmed in vintage tan. I have sewn on large vintage cotton pom poms to his belly. His cone hat is hand painted, aged, chipped and then I added cream polka dots and topped it with a smaller cream cotton pom pom. It has an elastic neckband and can be removed.
He is loosely stuffed with wood wool, steel shot and gravel granulars and sand, for weight and texture. He is 5-way hardware jointed with locknuts & discs. He will come with my signed hang tag, so you know you are getting an original Whimsical Whendi’s Bear and not an imitation. He is shown standing but cannot stand alone without help.
