10 inch cabinet size - Early Vintage Style Old ToY Sailor Butin-Buni One Of A Kind
What a delightful Vintage-Cottage style Sailor Button Buni! She turned out wonderful, just like an old antique toy! (Be sure to view lots more pictures in the slideshow below).
Like all my pieces, they are wonderfully distressed to look like they came out of an old trunk in the attic but they are newly made by me and are all my original designs & patterns. All my work, including clothing & accessories, is for the Adult collector and is not intended for children.
Her mohair is a hand dyed old gold color and then aged. She has a darkened little pointy snout and long droopy ears lined with vintage polka dot print cotton fabric and then aged. The ears are string-jointed and have old bone buttons so they swivel about rather than stationary stitched...my inspiration for the ears is Eyeore's tail from Winnie the Pooh! Her paw pads are backed mohair and heavily aged and her foot pads are the same matching polka dot fabric. Her eyes are black german glass and softly hand shaded.
She is wearing a wonderful, very "Seaside Cottage" look, handmade sailor suit. I used vintage aqua cotton textiles and cream cotton textiles. It is a one piece suit with lots of trim detail. I added old & worn holes for additional age. I also added tiny vintage buttons to the front for additional details. I made her one of my signature vintage poker chip charms with vintage graphics that dangles from a piece of old chain. The graphics are "Little Pinkie The Sailor"
What a great antique looking toy bunny ....all old & frumpy just the way we like it! She is loosely stuffed with wood wool, steel shot and gravel granulars and sand, for weight and texture. She is loosely 5-way hardware jointed with locknuts & discs. She will come with my signed hang tag, so you know you are getting an Original Whimsical Whendi s Bear and not am imitation. She is not able to stand alone without help. This is for the Rabbit only.
